Obituary: Karen Annette Yarbrough

Karen Annette Yarbrough, 69, of Newport departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2024.  She was born November 21, 1954, to Albert Sheets and Bessie Lucille (Lawson) Shannon.

She was a devoted grandmother, cherishing time spent with her fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her love for cooking brought joy to family gatherings, and she found great pleasure in fishing. Family reunions were special occasions for her, where she delighted in reconnecting with loved ones. As a dedicated member of the Holden Avenue Church of Christ, her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, hospitality, and the love she showered on her family. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sheets and Bessie Lucille (Lawson) Shannon and her son, Kyle Richmond.

She is survived by her husband, James Yarbrough of the home; her sons, Keith Richmond of Newark, Kenneth Richmond of California, and James Yarbrough Jr. of Southside; her brothers, Steve Baker of Smithville, Mike Baker (Susie) of Vilonia, and Tom Baker of Smithville; her sisters, Jeannie Hastings (Dean) of Cave City, Anita Cates of Cabot, and Terrie Patterson of Cabot; her grandchildren, Ashley Austin, Tyler Richmond, Austin Richmond, Jaxson Richmond, Judson Richmond, Jakob Richmond, Tyler Tenerio, Jacuilyn Rushing, Hunter Richmond, Hannah Richmond, Timothy Richmond, Katelyn Richmond, Skylar Yarbrough, Emlinn Rutledge, and Rylan Huff; ten great-grandchildren; and special friends, Nancy Curtis, Beverly Skelton, Evelyn Linvell, and Linda Boles.

Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Holden Avenue Church of Christ.  Visitation will follow.
