Mr. Roger John Patterson, 75, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life on May 17, 2024, at St. Bernard Medical Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Roger was born July 16, 1948, the son of Pierce Harrell and Bonita Thomas Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Amy Patterson. Roger married Joann Grant on June 12, 1971, and they have enjoyed 52 years of marriage.
Roger served in the Arkansas National Guard and was an owner/operator Truck driver for some 30 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Harrisburg and enjoyed eating ice cream, watching television, and spending time with family and friends.
Roger is survived by his wife, Joann, of the home, in Harrisburg; one son, Jeremy Grant; two daughters: Stephanie Patterson and Amanda Grant; four brothers: Phil Patterson, Ed Thomas Sr., Wesley Thomas, and Johnnie Thomas; eight grandchildren: Ciara (George) Beasley, Jesse Hewitt, Ashlyn Hewitt, Kamri Hewitt, Charlotte Grant, Audrey Grant, Rebecca Grant, and Emery Grant; four great-grandchildren: Silas Beasley, Kohen Beasley, Johnathan Beasley, and Michael Beasley.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Shiloh Baptist Church, beginning at 11 a.m. until service time. The
Memorial Service will be at 12 p.m. Cremation has been chosen by the family as the final disposition.
Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan will conduct the service. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
