Ila Margie Clements, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 1, 2024, at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Ila was born and grew up in Mesic, North Carolina, moving to Florida shortly after high school. Throughout her life she fished and farmed in North Carolina, lobster fished in the Florida Keys, waited tables for the likes of Tennessee Williams, was a typist for the Leaf Chronicle newspaper, and held many other jobs too numerous to list.  She finally retired as a computer support tech for Brevard County Schools in Florida. She wrote and published several fiction novels based on her own life experiences and that of her ancestors.

She lived in North Carolina, Florida, the Philippine Islands and Tennessee with her final home in Arkansas. Family was of utmost importance to her, second only to her relationship with her Lord.

She is survived by her current husband of 55 years, John Clements, daughters Terry Norman and Jeannie Clements, stepdaughter Bobbie Arndt, grandchildren Audrey (Ben) Morris and Robert (Krista) Norman and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lina Henries, sister Barbara Koen, first husband Kenneth Pate (d 1968), stepdaughter Teresa Clements and granddaughter Avery Norman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
