Emma L. (McDougal) Tubbs of Amagon, Arkansas departed this life Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born March 2, 1942, in Grubbs, the daughter of Johnny Clifton and Corda Mae (Lemons) McDougal.
Miss McDougal married Mr. Cecil Manuel Tubbs on July 27, 1957. Together they raised their family and enjoyed 57 years together. Mrs. Tubbs worked in the home and also at the polling center at Pennington during the elections. She was of the Missionary Baptist belief.
Mrs. Tubs enjoyed reading, sewing, and watching Jeopardy. Over the years, she made many beautiful quilts. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Tubs was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Manuel Tubbs; two brothers, Bobby C. McDougal and Darrell McDougal; three grandchildren, Mitch Vandermolen, Shonna Tubbs, and Jonathan Tubbs; and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald Joe Tubbs and wife, Diane, of Jonesboro, Randall Tubbs and wife, Janice, of Cash, and Russell Tubbs of Pennington; her daughter, Ronda Tse and husband, Roger, of Pennington; a special bonus daughter, Rhonda Wallis, of Grubbs; one sister, Darlene McDougal, of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Shannon Mirus and husband, Jay, Jennifer Tubbs, Sarah Barker and husband, Shay, Joseph Tubbs and wife, Leah, and Kandyce Tubbs; four great-grandchildren, Serenity Tubbs, Bryce Gavin Barker, Easton Lane Barker, and River Hugo Tubbs; and a niece, Denise McDougal.
To honor Mrs. Tubbs’ wishes, a private graveside service will be held.
Honorary pallbearers are Mrs. Tubbs’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
