A fund has been established for a Mountain View man who was seriously injured in a recent accident.

David Lee Long, 60, was struck by a vehicle on July 1 as he attempted to walk across Sylamore Avenue, near the Wing Shack, in Mountain View.

Long’s family members told the Stone County Leader newspaper that Long was transferred by helicopter to UAMS in Little Rock, where he underwent emergency surgery. The paper said Long had suffered a severed spinal cord and irreparable damage to two vertebrae.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for Long to assist with the medical expenses. According to the account, Long will require further medical treatment and has a lengthy recovery ahead. His home will also have to be renovated to accommodate his new needs. Contributors can access the account by clicking here.
