White River Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) will be providing cooling and heat relief sites during local heat advisory warnings.

The agency said in a media release that when such advisories are issued, the local Senior Centers and Senior Housing Development Community Rooms within WRAAA’s service area will extend their hours to assist in heat relief.

WRAAA recommends contacting the local Senior Center or Senior Housing Development in your area to verify the days and hours the sites will be available during the heat advisories.

Listings of all Senior Centers and Housing Developments can be found at www.wraaa.com or by calling 1 (800) 382-3205.

WRAAA serves Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, and Woodruff Counties in Arkansas. WRAAA reminds everyone to check on relatives, friends, and neighbors who are elderly, ill, or in need. The agency may be able to provide assistance.
