Obituary: Mazel Belle (Smith) Prince

Mazel Belle (Smith) Prince of Grubbs, Arkansas, departed this life Monday, July 29, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born June 3, 1939, the daughter of Henry Owens and Zadie (Pharris) Smith.

Mrs. Prince was a graduate of Newport High School. She worked for Jackson County Home Health for several years as a Home Health Aide. She was a member of Grubbs Church of Christ.

Mrs. Prince loved helping at any event at the People Helping People Building at Amagon. She enjoyed quilting with her sister and watching General Hospital. Mrs. Prince was known for her cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings.

Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Claude Edgar Prince; her daughter, Madonna Jewell Davis; one brother, Shelby W. Smith; two sisters, Catherine Fulbright and Vonnie Sutherland; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Michael Owen Prince and wife, Krista Lynette, of Pleasant Plains; six grandchildren, Adam Prince and wife, Courtney, Tanner Prince and wife, Kailey, Chaney Prince, Kourtney Reed and husband, Mike, Emilee Stuart and wife, Mo Renee, Tristen Davis and husband, Kris Oetzmann; five great-grandchildren, Layleigh Prince, Lizzy Prince, Lindsey Reed, Lexie Reed, and Maddie Reed; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday, August 1, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Balch-Johnston Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Adam Prince, Tanner Prince, and Chaney Prince.
