Marie Anderson Tate, 83, of Melbourne passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024.
She was born February 1, 1941, in Marcella, Arkansas to Cornelious ”S.I.” Anderson and Becky Jane (McGuffey) Anderson.
Marie loved her family and church family. She loved to laugh, go to yard sales, and was a spotless housekeeper. She collected bells, ducks, chickens, owls, angels, and other ceramic figurines.
Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Younger of Melbourne; four brothers, Hairl and Fairl Anderson of Batesville; Paul Anderson (Mary) of Melbourne, Leroy Anderson (Diann) of Batesville; one step-grandson, Sidney Younger (Brandy) of Magness, and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Tate; one brother, Henry Anderson; one sister, Alene Anderson, and one granddaughter, Kristie Johnson.
Pallbearers are Sidney Younger, Brandy Younger, John Wisinger, Charity Story, Dalton Story, and Leroy Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Sage Baptist Church with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Reves-Pine Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am just before the service.
