Patricia Ann (Swan) Looney of Oil Trough, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the age of 65. She was born September 12, 1958, in Newport, Arkansas, the daughter of Arthur Andrew and Virginia Mae (Ross) Swan.
Pat graduated from Swifton High School and was a member of Swifton Assembly of God.
Miss Pat Swan was married to Mr. Steve Looney on April 11, 1980, and together they enjoyed 44 years.
Pat began her career as a preschool teacher at Oil Trough Preschool when her daughter, Brittany, joined the program. After obtaining certification in Early Childhood Education from UACCB, Pat started working for Kid’s First in Newport. She had a great love and patience for children, and they adored her, as well.
Pat enjoyed creating floral arrangements and collecting Boyd’s Bears. She kept busy browsing thrift stores, attending yard sales, and going to auctions.
Most importantly, Pat loved her family and devoted her life to taking care of them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Andrew Swan, Jr.
Pat is survived by her husband of 44 years, Steve Looney of the home; one daughter, Brittany (Looney) Sullins and husband, Erik of Arizona; one granddaughter, Addisen Sullins of Arizona; her mother, Virginia Swan of Swifton; one brother, Ricky Swan and wife, Kathy of Newport; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home, on Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Swifton Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Billy Warden, Steve Wilson, James Shannon, Greg Clark, Tyler Swan, and Zack Swan.
