Elwonda (Tunstall) Baker Riley of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born March 13, 1935, in Jackson County the daughter of Lacy and Rachel (Fuller) Tunstall.
Mrs. Riley was retired from the Mountain View Senior Center, where she had worked as a cook. She attended the First Baptist Church in Tuckerman. Mrs. Riley had many hobbies, including raising plants and flowers, painting, sewing, playing guitar and singing. For many years she was her mother’s caregiver. She will be remembered for her compassionate and servant heart. Mrs. Riley was always there for her family and friends. She was always joyful and smiling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Junior Baker; one daughter-in-law, Debra Baker; four brothers, L. C. Tunstall, Charles Tunstall, Fisher Tunstall, and Roy Tunstall; three sisters, Lilly Choate, Melva Adcox, and Thena Ray Walpole; and her parents.
Mrs. Riley is survived by her husband, Charles Riley of Tuckerman; two sons, Randy Baker of Jonesboro, and Ricky Baker and wife, Penny, of Walnut Ridge; one daughter, Jeanette Lassiter and husband, Wayne, of Jacksonport; two sisters, Elva Bezio of Michigan City, Indiana, and Irene Harris and husband, Eddie, of Saffell; twelve grandchildren, Michael Blevins, Felicia King, Billy Roper, Brandon Rone, Carl “C.J.” Baker, Kayla Watts and husband, Nathan, Cassidy Knight and husband, Brantley, Amber Calendar and husband, Michael, Dedra Baker, Rhonda Baker, Crystal Schmidt and husband, Courtney, and Jessica Thompson; Nanny to many great and great- great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home, on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Jim Chandler and Brother Dwight Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Mountain View.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Scott Adcox, Travis Adcox, James Adcox, Billy Roper, Brandon Rone, and Chad Tunstall. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Adcox and C. J. Baker.
