Jere Annette Weekly Scoggin, 80, of Clarksville departed this like on August 9, 2024. She was born September 16, 1943, in Hickory Ridge to Claude and Thelma (Moren) Henderson.
Jere had a deep love for gospel music, with a special fondness for the Gaithers. Her heart was devoted to caring for others, and she considered it a true joy to serve those in need. Cooking was another of her passions, and she took great pleasure in preparing meals for her family and friends. As a beloved mother and grandmother, her family was always at the center of her world. Jere dedicated many years of her life as a compassionate and skilled LPN nurse, impacting the lives she touched through her work. Her warmth, kindness, and selflessness will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, music, and care for others lives on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren, who will cherish the memories they shared with her. Jere’s life was a testament to the power of love and service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Jean Puckett and Melba Bailey; and her husband of thirty-nine years, Arthur Weekly and her second husband, Wayne Scoggins.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Callahan (Elizabeth) of Russellville, and John Callahan (Lori) of Sarasota, Florida; her stepdaughter, Vicki Staman of Buchannan, Michigan; her grandchildren, Mae Snow, Sean Callahan, Amber Weekley, Scott Weekley, Chad Callahan, Justin Callahan, Jared Callahan, Austin Callahan, and Seth Callahan; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Seth Callahan, Gary Jones, Chris Colter, Marty Cagle, Tim Cagle, and Eddie Cagle.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with an interment at Lewis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
