Newark native named Volunteer of the Year by Alzheimer’s Arkansas

Alzheimer’s Arkansas has named Jane T. Svetz as Volunteer of the Year.

Svetz (pictured), who grew up near Newark, created H2GoRuns, a series of events benefiting the organization.

Svetz works as a trust officer and vice president at First Arkansas Bank & Trust in Little Rock. She is married to Stephen Svetz and has a son, Blake Gunter, and a daughter-in-law, Kaylee Gunter.

The second annual White River H2GO 2 Miler Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday morning, Aug. 24, 2024, in Batesville. The event starts and ends at Riverside Park.

According to its website, Alzheimer’s Arkansas is an independent, nonprofit organization that offers free programs, services, resources, and financial assistance to family caregivers across Arkansas. The organization’s focus is on supporting the journey caregivers face each day as they care for loved ones with dementia or chronic illness.
