Mrs. Rosie V. Smart of Magness, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 90.
She was born December 3, 1933 in Batesville, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Hattie (Turpin) Bice.
Mrs. Smart attended Sulphur Rock School. She had worked for Fortune Inn and Suites in the housekeeping department. Mrs. Smart loved working outside in her vegetable garden and flower beds. Her other hobbies included taking care of her dogs and cooking for her family. Mrs. Smart raised nine children, not all being her own. She will be remembered for being a really good and kind person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Smart; one son, Charles Smart, one daughter, Mary Smart; two brothers, Valley Godair and Joe T. Bice; six sisters, Holleenie Godair, Teria Godair Sherrill, Jennie Godair Patterson Chinn, Ruby Godair Cannon, Pearl Godair Watson Hawkins, and Martha Jane Godair Scribner; and her parents.
Mrs. Smart is survived by four sons, William Smart of Magness, Larry Smart of Magness, Shawn Edward Smart, and Kelby Shane Epperson; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mac’s Chapel Cemetery in Sulphur Rock.
