The Batesville School District is implementing temporary parking and transportation arrangements to accommodate ongoing construction projects at the Batesville Junior High School Charter (BJHSC) and Batesville High School Charter (BHSC) campuses. The district said in a news release that these changes aim to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students, parents, and fans attending fall athletic events.

To facilitate efficient parking and transportation, the district will offer shuttle services from designated pickup and dropoff points before, during, and after home football games on Thursdays and Fridays. These shuttle services will help alleviate parking congestion and provide a convenient way for fans to access the stadium.

Dr. Ken James, superintendent of Batesville School District, acknowledges the challenges but commends the efforts of all involved in making this transition as seamless as possible.

“While these construction-related obstacles present unique challenges, I am incredibly proud of our team for their dedication to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone,” said James. “Our athletic director, BHSC administration, student resource officers, and construction team have worked tirelessly to coordinate efforts, and I want to give special thanks to Mayor Rick Elumbaugh and John Abbott with the City of Batesville for their support. The city has generously provided one of their units to help transport fans, further ensuring a smooth process on game days.”

In addition to the shuttle services, the district has released a detailed parking map (above) outlining designated areas for home and visiting fans, reserved parking spaces, handicapped parking, and restroom locations.

Despite the temporary inconveniences caused by construction. the district encourages all fans to come out and support the Pioneers throughout the season.

GUARDIANS: All students 5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult to ride the buses for transportation and enter the game. Students must be monitored by guardians during the duration of the event. No students under 5th grade will be allowed to board the bus or enter the game without supervision. Also new this year, all students will pay $5 (K-12, 4 and under get in free) for game entry or can pay $35 for an activity pass which will get them into all home games for the entire school year. Call (870) 793-0917 and ask for Jacob Cooper to purchase student passes.

Your continued support means the world to our students, coaches, and staff. Together, we can make this a successful and memorable season.
