Mr. Danny Dean Cheshier of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born July 9, 1939, the son of Theodore Lee and Violet Joaquin (Burgess) Cheshier.
Mr. Cheshier was a 1958 graduate of Newport High School. Following high school, he went to work for Revere Copper and Brass and retired after 28 years of service. He married Miss Irene Tolliver on April 1, 1961, and together they built a wonderful life. Mr. Cheshier was a member of Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church. A special moment in his life was his baptism in the White River.
Mr. Cheshier was an avid outdoorsman. He was a great bass fisherman and cherished every moment he could spend on the water. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years. Mr. Cheshier’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Mr. Cheshier was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Dean Cheshier; his daughter, Cynthia Lynne Cheshier; a sister, Sylvia Jackson; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Bob and Audrey Tolliver; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene (Tolliver) Cheshier, of the home; two brothers, Larry Cheshier of Memphis, Tennessee and Jackie Cheshier of Tuckerman; one sister, Sandy Hembrey, of Hickory Grove; his brother-in-law, Robert L. Tolliver, of Phelan, California; several nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Danny”; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, at Cheshier Cemetery, with his nephew, Starr Cheshier, officiating.
Honorary pallbearer is Elvis Clark.
