Thomas Ishmael King, 96, of Batesville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
He was born August 9, 1928, in Mount Pleasant to Thomas Benjamin King and Martha Emma (Hall) King.
In his early years, Thomas was a school teacher at Mount Pleasant. He also attended Arkansas College, where he obtained his CPA and teaching certificate. He was a CPA for Barnett and Landers and Ideal Bakery, opened his own auto parts store and was an office manager at Colortile. Thomas was a Sunday School teacher at West Baptist.
Thomas was a good man, well respected and a servant of the Lord. He was a good provider, a patient man, and a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, working in the garden and flower beds, and watching all Razorbacks sports.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Southard (Bruce) of Batesville; one grandchild, Thomas Andy Burrow; two nephews, Thomas Jason King and David Eric King and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Searcy King; one brother, David Mitchell King and one sister, Melba King Rider.
Pallbearers are Zach Clark, Dustin Dayberry, Mike Harmon, Jason King, Blake Baxter and Andy Baxter.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
