It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danny Wayne Beard, a cherished resident of Pennington, Arkansas, who left us on Friday, September 13, 2024. Danny, known for his kindness and unwavering dedication to his family and community, was 81 years old.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rita Bible Beard, of Pennington. He was the proud father of his daughter Dana Beard Waldrop and son-in-law Mark Waldrop of Denver, Colorado, and the beloved grandfather of Zachary Waldrop of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by his dear sister-in-law Nina Shelby and brother-in-law Butch Shelby of Pennington, and his dear sister-in-law Joy Zirbel of Waldenburg, and a host of special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli Beard and Christine Pruitt Beard of Weldon, Arkansas, his brother-in-law E.G. Bible Jr. of Balch, Arkansas, and his brother-in-law Aaron John Zirbel of Waldenburg.
Danny had a long and fulfilling career as a manager of John Deere companies in Hickory Ridge, Weiner, Augusta, and Jonesboro, Arkansas. Later, he brought his expertise to Cross County Bank in Weiner and, after retirement, found joy working with his friends at Wimpy Farms. His talent for fixing things was not only a skill but a gift that he generously shared with his family and the community.
An avid outdoorsman, Danny loved hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family. His legacy of love, skill, and community spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Cunningham, Tommy Cunningham, Gary Zirbel, Heath Shelby, Barry Carlton, and Shannon Hall.
Danny’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Monday evening, September 16, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Pennington Cemetery.
