Authorities in Independence County are investigating a social media post involving two high school football teams.
According to a report from Region 8 News (KAIT), the superintendents of the Batesville and Southside School Districts said they were notified of a graphic social media post that depicted players and staff from both teams. Interim Batesville Schools Superintendent Dr. Ken James said the Independence County Sheriff’s Department will handle the investigation.
A Tuesday news release stated that both schools’ athletic departments and administrations are working together to determine how future games between the teams will be handled as the investigation continues, the report said.
No other details about the post were given due to the ongoing investigation.
