Batesville Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Owens will update the Batesville City Council on Tuesday about the progress of the Main Street Greenway Trail.
The project, which is ahead of schedule, will include a new bike and pedestrian lane occupying the right lane of Main Street, starting at the Bank of Cave City at 12th and Main streets. The lane will continue down Main Street and stop at 5th Street. The path will be part of the Batesville Greenway System and the Batesville Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, both of which aim to enhance transportation alternatives.
Council members will also consider a resolution to sell the property at 201 S. Central Ave. (pictured above) to Lifeplus for a purchase price of around $150,000. The lot is currently home to a variety of food trucks. The resolution states that the Batesville-based company plans to expand its footprint into downtown.
The Batesville City Council meets at the Batesville Municipal Building, 500 E. Main St., at 5:30 p.m.
