Floyd Wayne Clayton, 78 of Weiner, Arkansas departed this life on September 20, 2024, at his residence with his family with him. Floyd was born August 30, 1946, in Tuckerman, Arkansas the son of Floyd and Hazel May (Beach) Clayton. He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother Mildred Clayton, three brothers: Donald Clayton, Jimmy Garner, and Curt Moffitt, and one sister, Betty Passmore. Floyd worked as a carpenter for 25 years for Nix Construction. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed racing cars, dirt tracks and spending time with family and friends. Floyd served 3 years in the United States Army 173rd Air Borne. He served in Vietnam and received many medals: the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is survived by two Daughters: Kim (Gregg) Greer of Harrisburg and Crystal Clayton of Weiner, 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Clayton, Gregory W. Greer, Shannon Greer, Kathy Correa, and Angelina Correa, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers: Whitey Moffitt in Tennessee, and J E (Short) Garner of Waldenburg, two sisters: Pat Anderson of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Elsie Ethridge of Springfield, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Jackson’s Funeral Home Harrisburg. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Larry Bogard conducting the service. Cremation has been chosen as the final disposition by the family. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
