Yvonne Gail Dunham, 91, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away on September 27, 2024. She was born in Alicia, Arkansas on December 23, 1932, to Sam and Minerva (Dewitt) Blackshear.
Gail retired from Victor Metal, where she worked diligently for many years. Even after retiring, her strong work ethic led her to continue working well into her eighties. Known for her love of the outdoors, Gail enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time in nature. She was also an avid sports fan, especially when it came to baseball and her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed competitive bowling up to age 80 and had a deep affection for her pug dogs.
Gail was always caring for others. In good health, she was a caregiver for many family members and friends who needed her. Her selflessness and love touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion.
Her passing marks the end of a life well-lived, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Dunham Jr. (Frosty); her brothers and sisters, Nora Simmons, Elsie Simmons, Hobert Blackshear, Retha Depriest, William Blackshear, Robert Blackshear, Rutha Wylie, Alta Blackshear, Willard Blackshear, Arthur Blackshear, Ira Blackshear, Gene Blackshear, Wilma Blackshear, Virgil Blackshear, Lavina Pace.
She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Marty Pace of Little Rock, Kathey Pace of Hoxie, Kelly Aaron of Black Rock, and Martha Tolson of Jonesboro; close family friend, Scott Elphingstone of Dallas, Texas, and a host of other family and friends
The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.
