Obituary: Joanne Marie Johnson

Joanne Marie Johnson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at the age of 83, in Mountain View, Arkansas surrounded by family. Joanne was born on April 22, 1941, in Phoenix Arizona to Alva and Earl Logsdon. Joanne lived a life full of love, dedication, and warmth.

Joanne attended Sunnyvale High School where she met her high school sweetheart Theodore Johnson. They later married on September 6, 1958, in Sunnyvale, California. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Deborah and David. In 1973, they moved to Foresthill, California where they continued to cherish their family and all their moments together. After moving to Foresthill, Joanne and Thedore purchased the Foresthill Bottle Shop. They later went on to open the Foresthill Feed Store. Joanne later found fulfillment working as a bookkeeper for the local mini-mart for 20 years before retiring. Her friendly smile and bright personality left a lasting impression on the community.

In 2014, Joanne lost the love of her life, Ted, but she remained in Foresthill until 2021 when she moved to Mountain View, Arkansas with her daughter and son-in-law. Joanne’s favorite hobbies were Tuesday night Bingo, being outdoors, and crocheting, in which she created many cherished gifts for her loved ones.

Joanne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Johnson, her mother Alva Willey, her father Earl Logsdon, and her son David Johnson.

She is survived by her step-father, Donald Willey; her sister, Patrica Barnes (Richard Barnes); daughter Deborah Millsaps (Jerry Millsaps); her 3 grandchildren; Robert Oyer (Janeen Oyer), Theanne Gruhlke (Jason Gruhlke), Kory Johnson; 7 great-grandkids Ashley Truman, Gavin Oyer (Bella Oyer), Abbi Oyer, Andrew Truman, Caleb Gruhlke, Cobey Gruhlke, Grayson Gruhlke; her brother-in-law Tommy Johnson (Winnie), and many nieces and nephews. Her family will remember her for her kind spirit, generous heart, and the countless ways she enriched their lives.

Joanne will be laid to rest in Foresthill, California. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Joanne Marie Johnson’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all.
