Jimmie Dewayne Bell, 88, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on October 8, 2024. He was born in Batesville to Lee Roy Bell and Ida June Swaim Bell. Jimmie was raised in the Limedale area and graduated from Cushman in 1955. After marrying Jean, they eventually moved to California until they retired in 2000 and moved back home to Batesville.

Most of the time Jimmie would be outside from morning until night finding something to do. When he did sit down, it was usually on the porch watching the birds and looking them up in his bird book.

Jimmie was always willing to help someone. He enjoyed making things from wood. He would find patterns or just look at something and make it. He enjoyed having a garden and taking care of his roses. In his younger days, he enjoyed water skiing, fishing, and hunting.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Ring, and his grandson, Erik Goodrich; his brother Max Bell, his sister, Frances Nelson, both of California; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Nila Jean Silas Bell; his parents; and his siblings, Lorene Bell, Bernice Gardner, Lottie Fay Long, Leon Bell, and Wanda Larson.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. The funeral service, officiated by Bro. Steve Gunther, will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
