Obituary: Judy Barber

Judy Barber of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born June 25, 1944, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of James A. and Carmen (Hambrick) Robinson.

Mrs. Barber graduated from Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona. After high school, she earned her Cosmetology Certification while living in Phoenix. On November 22, 1972, Miss Judy Robinson married Mr. Benny Dale Barber. Together, they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. In addition to raising their own children, the Barbers opened their home to many foster children throughout their life together. Mrs. Barber had a kind heart and loved nothing more than caring for any child in need.

She was an active member of the North Heights Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a Heart Mom.

Mrs. Barber loved knitting, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was an enthusiastic collector, never missing a sale! Her greatest joy came from caring for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Benny Barber; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Barber; one brother, Joseph Robinson; one sister, Jan-Ellen Stover; and her parents.

She is survived by five sons, Sean Barber and wife, Rebecca, of Saltillo, Arkansas, Joshua Robinson and wife, Jamie, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Adam Barber and wife, Taylor of Beebe, Arkansas, Doug Barber of Tucson, Arizona, and Alan Barber and wife, Jacque, of Phoenix, Arizona; four daughters, Meagan Spinks and husband, Hulan, of Locust Grove, Arkansas, Suki Nhan and husband, Tony, of Overland Park, Kansas, Lori Tatum and husband, Clark, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Liz Barber of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother Jeffrey Robinson and wife, Patricia, of Texas; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at North Heights Church of Christ, with interment at Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit the church, Friday, 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Taylor Pagel, Braxton Barber, Mason Robinson, JD Sonnier, Colt Teague, Gavin Chambers, and Khai Nhan.
