Janice B. Crabtree, 94, of Batesville passed away on October 19, 2024.
She was born July 12, 1930, in Batesville, Arkansas to Fred B. Barrett and Myrtle L. Allen Barrett.
Janice was a 1947 graduate of Batesville High School. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated deacon’s wife, pianist, and Sunday School teacher. Janice enjoyed cooking, entertaining, growing flowers, watching her grandchildren play sports, caring for her great-grandchildren, and spending time with family.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Curtwright; one grandson, Adam Curtwright (Mandi) of Batesville; granddaughter, Amy Morrison (Randy Morrison, Jr.) of Newark; three great-grandsons, Elisha Curtwright, Easton Curtwright, Carson Morrison, one great-granddaughter, Ellie Curtwright, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton T. Crabtree; brothers, Paul Edgar Barrett and Carl Barrett, and one sister, Elfreeda Murphy.
Pallbearers are Eli Curtwright, Easton Curtwright, Clint Chambliss, Joe Cannon, Mark Scott, and Billy Ed Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Vernon Scott, Frank McGaha, Carson Morrison, Ellie Curtwright, and Terry Jarrett.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Scott Jones and Chuck Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Batesville.
A visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
