Mark Hall (pictured above, right, with Citizens Bank’s Community Engagement Officer Ashley Engles on the left), third-grade classroom teacher at Eagle Mountain, was named as the October recipient of the Citizens Bank “Above & Beyond” award.

In a release, Citizens Bank said Hall serves his peers and students with kindness and enthusiasm along with a self-sacrificing and giving spirit.

Hall’s colleagues said of him:

  • “He is kind and enthusiastic every day as other teachers and students pass him in the hallway. He is very kind and caring. He is committed to his work and the students. He put the needs of the students over his own desires by giving up his 4th grade classroom to take on a whole new role after school had begun.”
  • “Mark works so well with everyone! He is so friendly and caring about all students and staff members. I am a new teacher, and he has been such a blessing. He is hard working and always willing to be there for anyone no matter what the need is.”
  • “Mark Hall goes above and beyond for his school, students, and staff. Not only did he volunteer for a difficult role this year, he works hard to be the best he can at it. Mark builds relationships with each and every student, goes out of his way to help others, and is always so kind.”
  • “He is always helpful to others. Anytime you need advice on anything, you can go to him and he will listen. He does random acts of kindness, works hard, thinks about others before himself, and makes connections with his students. He has definitely gone above and beyond this school year.”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
