Gerald “Ge-Bop” Wayne Carlyle, II, of Brookland, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 54. He was born December 3, 1969, in Albany, New York, the son of Gerald Wayne and Sue (Parsley) Carlyle.
“Ge-Bop” was a 1988 graduate of Newport High School. He received his bachelor’s in accounting from Arkansas State University. Mr. Carlyle was a retired nursing home administrator. He enjoyed deer, duck and dove hunting. His hobbies included playing the drums, cooking, watching sports and being a big storyteller. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved daughters. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was very active in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by his father and by one of his best friends, Mark Fisher.
“Ge-Bop” is survived by his wife, Stacie (Coy) Carlyle; two daughters, Abbie (Carlyle) Hood and husband, Joshua, of Bono, and Paige (Carlyle) Strode and husband, Saben, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; his parents, Sue Carlyle and Joe Rayburn Williams; one sister, Christi (Carlyle) Dilatush and husband, John, of Newport; three brothers, Tom Carlyle and wife, Misty, of Conway, Chad O’Dell and wife, Cheryl, of Newport, and Benji Carlyle and wife, Lindsay, of Springdale; brother and sister in law, Sammie and Carla Coy of Brighton, Tennessee; sister and brother in law, Stephanie and Mikey Robertson of Paragould; nieces and nephews, Tyler and wife, Shannon, Landon, Cody and wife Alexis, Willow, Brodie, Colton and wife Samantha, Georgia, Chloe, Eryn and husband, Grant, Kaylyn, Nick, Ruby, Falyn, Ben, Brock, and Banks; and a lifetime of friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Tom Carlyle, Chad O’Dell, Benji Carlyle, Chip Youngblood, John Dilatush, Sammie Coy, and Tyler Stacy. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Youngblood, Charlie Petty, Layne Mathis, Starr Cheshier, Mark Ladd, Charles Walker, David Allen, Michael Allen, Benny Reynolds, Doug Tapp, Tim Dickinson, Scottie Gann, Larry Lee Cheshier, Curt Osier, David Cook, and Shane Prince.

Friends may visit the funeral home, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Brother Don Martin officiating. The interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery in Auvergne.
