Batesville woman dies in one-vehicle accident

A Batesville woman was killed Sunday afternoon in rural Independence County after her vehicle left the road.

According to Arkansas State Police, Edie Ronewidemon, 50, died when her Nissan 300ZX attempted to negotiate a left curve on State Highway 14, left the right shoulder and overturned, landing in a pond. Ronewidemon was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene, the report said.

Trooper Grayson E. Russell’s report noted it was raining at the time of the accident, which was reported to be 4:55 p.m.
