Emily Ellen Hutchison-Goodman, 76, of Newark, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, joining her Lord. Born on November 10, 1948, in Sulphur Rock, Emily was a dedicated homemaker who found joy and purpose in caring for her family. Known for her love of cooking, she prepared every meal from scratch, filling her home with the warmth of homemade food and the love she poured into it.

Her talent for sewing was another way she shared her creativity and care, crafting items that brought comfort and joy to her loved ones. Emily’s life was centered around her family, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kind spirit, generosity, and dedication to her family will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Emily’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, as a reminder of the love and warmth she brought to everyone in her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Goodman; daughters, Emily Nast (Bobby) of Harrisburg, Patricia Kolke (David) of Newark, and Sharon Shears of Newark; Sons, Edward Dewayne Goodman (Wendy) of Newark and Justin Goodman (Allison) of Carlisle; brother, Troy Neil Hutchison (Caren) of Newark; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Iola Hutchinson; two sisters and several brothers.

The Goodman family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Ashley, Heather, and the Elite Hospice staff for their care and compassion to mom.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Justin Goodman, Charles May, Chris Sedergren, John Goodman, Jessie Belenski, Jimmy Kolke, and Michael Kolke.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Mt. Zion cemetery in Newark with Brother Rick Womack officiating.
