Vital Link Ambulance Service in Batesville has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for meeting national standards of excellence.
According to a release, Vital Link is now among more than 180 ambulance services nationwide to complete the commission’s rigorous voluntary review process, which includes a detailed application and an on-site evaluation by EMS experts. This achievement makes Vital Link one of only seven accredited ambulance services in Arkansas, an honor it first earned in 2003 and has successfully renewed every three years since.
The CAAS, a nonprofit organization, promotes high-quality patient care within America’s medical transportation system. Its standards emphasize patient care excellence and address all aspects of an ambulance service’s operations, including relationships with other agencies, the medical community, and the public. These standards often surpass state and local licensing requirements.
Kathy Lanier, CEO of Vital Link, said the accreditation “represents our firm commitment to our patients and community. We continuously strive to excel, and accreditation is an important step toward that goal.
“Our staff played a key role in our success, instilling a sense of pride in working for an accredited service. This accomplishment not only honors our team’s dedication but also encourages us to keep raising our standards,” Lanier added.
