The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) will host a Narcan Respond & Revive Training on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The session aims to educate attendees on recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose and administering naloxone, a medication commonly known as Narcan. Naloxone rapidly reverses opioid overdoses by blocking the effects of opioids on the brain, restoring normal breathing in individuals who have stopped or are at risk of stopping breathing due to an overdose.
The training will also cover Good Samaritan Laws, which protect individuals who provide assistance during an overdose emergency.
Josh Ramsey, a representative from the National Peer Recovery Alliance, discussed the importance of the training in a recent interview with White River Now’s Sean Peer.
The event is open to the public and aims to equip community members with life-saving skills as opioid-related overdoses remain a pressing concern nationwide.
Space is limited. For questions or to register, call (870) 612-2082, or scan the QR code below.
