The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) will host a free, self-guided Art Walk on Main Street on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will showcase BAAC’s ninth annual Member Exhibition at the Gallery on Main, 226 E Main St., as well as pop-up exhibitions featuring artwork by Lyon College art students.
The BAAC Member Exhibition, sponsored by FutureFuel Chemical Co., will feature work from 15 local and regional artists, including Karen Barker, Judith Beale, Dustyn Bork, Beverly Buys, Carly Dahl, Nathaniel Dailey, Emilee Gerhardt, Sarah Harmon, Victoria Hutcheson, Merry A. McSpadden, Ruby Schaaf, Taja Showers, Rylee Smith, Emma Smotherman, and Marcia Wallace.
During the Art Walk, Lyon College students from Professor Dustyn Bork’s Advanced Concepts class and Painting I class will be hosting exhibitions of their artwork at two different locations: Fellowship Bible Church/Landers Theater at 332 E. Main St. and the Batesville Downtown Foundation at 363 E Main St.
Gallery 246, at 243 E. Main St., will also be hosting a reception for its artist of the month, Brice Stephens.
Four locations on Main Street will be open during the Art Walk for viewing artwork with artists present to answer questions. The locations include the BAAC Gallery on Main, Gallery 246, Fellowship Bible Church/Landers Theater, and the Batesville Downtown Foundation.
