The Mountain View School District has asked parents to send their children to school with full water bottles each day this week while water quality tests are conducted following a weekend water pipe incident near the Mountain View campus.
In a statement Monday, district officials said drinking fountains across all Mountain View campuses will be closed until test results confirm the water is safe for consumption.
The district said that precautionary measures were being taken out of an abundance of caution.
The pipe issue occurred over the weekend, prompting concerns about potential water contamination. Results of the water tests are expected later this week, the district said.
Parents are urged to ensure their children bring enough water for the school day until the situation is resolved.
