The Mark Martin/Lyon College High School Invitational Tournament championship games, which will follow Thursday’s semifinal games, are set for Saturday.
Below is a rundown of Thursday’s action:
Boys Action
Southside 54, Mountain View 46
Cameron Foree scored 17 points, and Trey Allen added 13 to lead Southside over Mountain View in the finals of the boy’s consolation bracket.
Mountain View was led by Tyler Newton with 17 points and
Kyle Corners with 15 points.
Thayer 75, Greers Ferry Westside 51
Devin Harrington scored 32 points, Easton Pitts added 19, and Brandon Prince scored 11 points to lead Thayer into the championship game of the boy’s bracket with a win over Greers Ferry Westside.
Greers Ferry was led by Bryant Brown with 24 points, Max Gipson scored 13 and Will Jackson added 11 in the loss.
Thayer will play Cedar Ridge for the tournament crown at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Greers Ferry Westside will take on Batesville in the tournament’s third-place game at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Girls Action
Nettleton 58, Greers Ferry Westside 57
Kinsley Patterson made a free throw in the final seconds to lift Nettleton over Greers Ferry Westside by one point.
Nettleton came back from being down 25-5 in the first period to take the victory that will pit them against Mountain View in the girl’s championship game at 5:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Jessica Collins scored 17 points, while Kaedyn Hardaway and Taylor Thomas added 10 points apiece in the win.
Greers Ferry was led by Ashlyn Cossey with 16 points, Lainee Gentry added 13 points, and Kately Cornett scored 12.
Greers Ferry will take on Manila in the third place game at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Cedar Ridge 46, Southside 42
Emilee Pankey sank two free throws in the final 10 seconds to lift Cedar Ridge to a four-point win over Southside in the girl’s consolation tournament semifinals.
Pankey led all scorers with 24 points, while Leilah Campbell added nine points in the win.
Southside was led by Sierra Carter with 12 points, while Emilee Guyette scored 11.
Cedar Ridge will play Thayer in the consolation finals at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.
