Ashlee Roberts, (center, with Midland Superintendent Toby Crosby left, and Julie Warden with Citizens Bank) special services teacher at Midland Elementary, was named last week to receive the December “Citizens Bank Shine Like a Mustang Award.”
Citizens Bank said in a media release that Roberts sacrifices her time to ensure her classroom and fellow staff are cared for and thriving, putting the needs of others before her own.
“Each day, Mrs. Roberts arrives early and stays late to make sure her students’ needs are being met,” said a fellow staff member. “No matter what is asked of her, she finds a way to help. She is constantly looking for ways to improve her teaching to help her students. If ever a person goes above and beyond, it is Mrs. Ashlee Roberts.”
With this program, Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as Mustangs and live out the district’s vision to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure. Staff nominate the award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
