The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday, Dec. 21, outside an apartment in the 200 block of Hough Street in Augusta.
The Augusta Police Department (APD) responded to the scene and found Kenneth Ray Hawkins, 57, of Augusta, with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Hawkins died while being transported to a local hospital, according to police.
Authorities stated that the deceased will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further details have been released.
