Lyon College has introduced a website, www.Lyon.edu/forarkansas, to support its fundraising initiative, “A Better World. Starting in Arkansas.” The campaign seeks to address critical needs in education, healthcare, and community development throughout the state and beyond.
The website outlines major projects, including the expansion of the Batesville campus, the creation of Arkansas’s first dental and veterinary schools in central Arkansas, and improvements to academic programs, scholarships, and facilities. Visitors to the site can discover how these initiatives will prepare future leaders, address healthcare shortages, and contribute to economic and community vitality throughout Arkansas, the college said in a news release.
“Lyon College has always been a beacon of opportunity, and this campaign reflects our commitment to meet the evolving needs of Arkansas and its people,” said Dr. Melissa Taverner, president of Lyon College. “We invite everyone to learn more about our vision for a healthier, brighter future—starting right here at home.”
The website features detailed project plans, stories of impact, and opportunities for public involvement. Visitors can explore ways to support healthcare advancements, transformative scholarships, and vibrant community initiatives.
“This campaign is about more than just building programs and facilities—it’s about creating opportunities that transform lives,” said Dr. David Hutchison, vice president for advancement. “At Lyon College, we believe in the power of education to drive change and inspire progress. Whether it’s training future dentists and veterinarians, supporting first-generation college students, or enhancing our vibrant campus community, this effort will leave a lasting legacy for Arkansas and beyond.”
