Gilda Kay “Nana” (Tirey) Honey of Lonoke, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on March 4, 1947, in Tuckerman, the daughter of Charles Ed and O’Wanda (Huskey) Tirey.
Mrs. Honey spent many years working as a Supervisor at American Greetings in McCrory. She was of the Baptist belief.
Mrs. Honey enjoyed playing cards and watching TV. She was a wonderful cook and loved taking care of her family. As an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, she enjoyed following her children and grandchildren to all of their baseball games to cheer them on. Mrs. Honey’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana”.
Mrs. Honey was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Steve Honey on April 1, 2012; two step-sons, James Eugene “Oscar” Honey and Eddie Dale Honey; one step-daughter, Cindy Haskett; a brother, Charles Eddie Tirey, Jr.; her sisters, Diane Honey and Phyllis Provence; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Marshall and Craig, of Stuttgart; her step-daughter, Jeannie Gaskin and Dale, of Beedeville; her step-son, Todd Honey, of Jonesboro; one sister, Gail White of Maryville, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren, Taylor, Mallory, Colton, Brandy, Mandy, Sara, B.J., Kayla, Kyndale, Shonda, and Katrina; and many great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Funeral Home Monday evening, December 30, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Eightmile Cemetery, with Bro. Rick Womack officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Colton Shadwick, Austin Pierce, Andrew Orr, Zach Gill, Cannon Robertson, and Ryder Robertson.
