Hoy Lee Melton, 92, of Batesville passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Batesville. He was born February 3, 1932, at Cushman to Aulden and Alta (Glenn) Melton. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, owned Melton’s Grocery in Cushman for many years and was of the Pentecostal faith. Hoy enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, and reading his Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of sixty-four years, Mary Melton; one brother, Roy Melton and one sister, Sheila Anderson.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Winningham (Terry) of Batesville and Donna Winn (Eddie) of Southside; two sisters, Patsy Nelson (Barry) of Searcy and Jackie Reynolds (Sammy) of Sandtown; two grandchildren, Candace Carnett Dickey (Joey) of Batesville and Susan Fike (Anthony) of Southside; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Fike and Madison Fike with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Leonard Tharp and Bro. Carl Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Cushman.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Melton, Matthew Melton, Josh Melton, Joey Dickey, Anthony Fike and Wendell Lee.
Honorary Pallbearer is Jimmy Melton.
