ST. LOUIS, Missouri — Lyon College softball has been picked to finish in 6th place in the 2025 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) preseason coaches poll.

The Scots were picked to finish sixth after receiving 46 points in the voting. The Scots finished 19-19 overall and 8-8 in SLIAC play last season.

Coach Taylor Kuhn will return the 2024 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in Olivia Orf, who batted .351 with 11 doubles and four home runs last season. Along with her, the Scots return Skylar Foreman, who hit .361 last season, Mary (MK) Duffield, who hit .293 with 21 RBI, and Sophie Varela, who hit .286 overall. On the pitching side, the Scots will return Georgia Holzier and Sydney Lasher, a pair Coach Kuhn will lean on as the rest of the rotation will be young and mostly inexperienced.

Principia College will return to the diamond after a two-year absence and, as such, is picked to finish last in the SLIAC polls with 10 points in the voting.

Greenville University is picked to finish at the top of the conference, as they will return 23 players from a team that won 35 games and the SLIAC championship last season. Among them is the 2024 SLIAC Player of the Year, Natalee Moore, who hit .500 while driving in 57 runs last season.
