An Independence County Jail inmate initially jailed for a shooting incident in Desha faces his third felony charge since June 2024.
Itrevone Sain (pictured below), 25, was charged Tuesday in Independence County Circuit Court with second-degree battery after authorities say he struck a jailer three times at the jail Jan. 23. His bond was set at $10,000.
The jailer was treated at White River Health for a minor injury and later returned to duty.
This is Sain’s second incident at the jail. He was charged Dec. 18 with felony second-degree battery and misdemeanor first-degree criminal mischief after authorities say he bit a jailer during a struggle. The bond for that count was set at $25,000.
Sain was initially jailed on one count of felony terroristic threatening after a June 9 shooting in Desha. His bond was initially set at $200,000 but later reduced to $100,000. His trial on the count is scheduled for later this year. He pleaded not guilty to the terroristic threatening charge.
