Batesville Community Schools to host free ‘Happy Healthy Kids’ Health Expo

news-2024

The Batesville Community Schools of BSD will host the first-ever “Happy Healthy Kids” Health Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 11, offering free health screenings and wellness resources to all children in the community.

The event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Batesville Community Center, 1420 20th St., with entry through the gym entrance. Attendance is open to all local children, not just BSD students.

The interactive expo will feature complimentary health screenings provided by local doctors, physicians, and community partners. Services will include vision, hearing, and dental screenings, flu shots, safety education, and general health and wellness resources. In addition to healthcare services, the event will promote literacy initiatives and provide families with access to valuable community support programs.

“Preventative care plays a vital role in a child’s overall well-being,” said Lorrie McClure, Community School preschool site coordinator. “By offering free health screenings and connecting families with community resources, we’re taking proactive steps to support our students’ health and future success.”

Organizers encourage families to attend and take advantage of the free services, aiming to ensure every child has the support needed to grow, learn, and succeed.
