Authorities arrested three people and charged another after they seized drugs, a firearm, and a vehicle during a coordinated operation in Cave City following a yearlong investigation, Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell announced.
Law enforcement officers executed search warrants on Jan. 29 at two Cave City residences, 204 Blackstone St. and 601 Flat Rock Rd., as part of a joint effort by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, the 3rd and 16th Drug Task Forces, and the Cave City Police Department.
At the Blackstone Street address, officers arrested Thomas Brandin Corter (pictured above, center), 40, on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premise within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone. Kristin Joelle Malatin (right), 38, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premise within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone. Brandy Lynn Stracener (left), 46, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug premise within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone.
As a result of the Flat Rock Road residence search warrant, officers charged Zane Butler Turner, 32, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance (opium), possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premise.
Authorities reported seizing a total of approximately 23 grams of methamphetamine, 27 grams of opium, one firearm, and one vehicle as a result of the operation.
The sheriff’s office said the arrests, charges, and seizures were the culmination of a yearlong investigation by multiple agencies targeting drug activity in the area.
