Authorities have arrested a Batesville man on four felony counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting explicit conduct involving a child.
According to court information, authorities arrested Nathaniel Lloyd Nerdin (pictured below), 36, on Feb. 4, after a cyber-tip alerted authorities to suspected child sexual abuse material being uploaded to an account linked to a Batesville resident via email and cell phone accounts.
A January search warrant of Nerdin’s phone yielded thousands of images and over 1,700 videos — ninety percent of which were classified by investigators as pornography. The court documents said the material included “adult porn, animal porn, and child porn.”
Nerdin told investigators he had been paying for pornography but that sites “were sending him porn that he was not asking for.” He said he “got rid of his account,” but he was still getting material from an online site.
Nerdin is being held on a bond of $100,000.
