The City of Batesville will break ground Thursday on a new water treatment plant, marking a major step toward improving the city’s water infrastructure.
According to a release from the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, the groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Park, is a collaborative effort between the City of Batesville, Olsson Engineering Firm, and construction manager TOLM Group, Inc. Officials say the project will ensure a safe, reliable, and sustainable water supply for decades.
The city’s existing water treatment facility, built in the 1960s, is in need of modernization to accommodate Batesville’s growing population. The new facility will provide cost-effective, high-quality water service for at least the next 50 years.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place near the existing facility at Riverside Park.
