The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department is seeking public assistance in an ongoing homicide investigation following the discovery of human skeletal remains in late December 2023.
According to the sheriff’s office, the remains were found on Dec. 31, 2023, near the Big Creek bridge in the Jim Kress area, east of Wilburn.
Investigators later identified the remains as those of Eddie Rounds, a resident of Independence County prior to his death.
Authorities determined that Rounds’ death was intentional, though specific details regarding the cause or circumstances have not been released.
Detective Angelo Aldrighetti of the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department urged anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted via the department’s online crime tip email or by contacting Aldrighetti at (501) 362-8143.
“The family of Eddie Rounds and the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department appreciate any assistance that can be provided leading to an arrest in this investigation,” the department said in a statement.
