The Cleburne & Independence County Cattlewomen’s Bootcamp, held last year, was a huge success, providing women in agriculture with valuable skills and a supportive environment to grow in the cattle industry. This year’s event, taking place from April 10-12 in north-central Arkansas, is expected to be even more impactful. Hosted by the Cooperative Extension Service offices in Cleburne and Independence counties, the three-day bootcamp will be held at Chimney Rock Cattle Company in Concord and the Livestock and Forestry Station in Batesville, part of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station.
This year, the bootcamp will cover essential topics including forage management, herd health and nutrition, cattle handling, farm business planning, trailer backing, administering cattle shots, and more. The bootcamp offers hands-on experience in a female-focused, non-intimidating environment. Attendees will gain practical skills that directly impact their day-to-day operations.
Limited to 35 participants, the event is a great opportunity for women to deepen their knowledge and connect with others in the cattle industry. Registration is $50, which covers food and materials. For registration information, contact the Independence Co. Extension Office at 870-793-8840 or you can click the following link:  https://uada.formstack.com/forms/cattlewomens_bootcamp
