Norma (Spicer) Selvidge of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born January 17, 1939, the daughter of Luther and Iva (Eddington) Spicer.
On October 11, 1973, she married Mr. Marcus Selvidge, and together they enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Mrs. Selvidge enjoyed collecting basket, watching westerns and Perry Mason, and playing the piano. She especially loved her dog, Babe.
Mrs. Selvidge was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; one daughter, Cathy Strickland Lane; one brother, Luther Phillip Spicer; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Michael Strickland of Newport; three grandchildren, Chase Curtis and wife, Robin of Jonesboro, Heather Strickland of Newport, and Blane Fortune of Newport; her special friend, Darlene Pridmore; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Coffeyville Cemetery with Bro. Bill Chambers officiating. Arrangements by Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.
