Jonathan Fred O’Dell, better known as Johnny-O, left this world on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on March 10, 1963, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Fred and Clara Faye Smith O’Dell.
His work family included students and faculty of the Midland School District, where he worked in maintenance and drove a school bus for several years. Johnny-O loved to make friends, never knew a stranger, and would carry on a conversation with most anyone. He was a good friend and will be missed.
His passion was playing his guitar, and he might have thought of himself as a “rock and roll star.” He loved the outdoors, walking, and working out. As a family man, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, eating at his brother’s house, and aggravating his niece.
He will be forever remembered by his daughter, Kiernan O’Dell, of Concord; his brother, Joseph O’Dell, of Pleasant Plains; and his niece, Makenna O’Dell, of Pleasant Plains.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
