Mary Lafate Ballard, 85, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 21, 1939, in Magness, she was the daughter of the late V.C. Prickett and Esther (Prichard) Prickett. Mary was a woman whose heart knew no bounds. A devoted mother and cherished “Nanny”(grandmother), she possessed a warmth that radiated to all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and unwavering strength were a testament to her spirit. Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the company of her family and friends, creating memories that will forever be treasured. Her kind heart and loving nature left an enduring mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Mary’s legacy of love lives on through her children, Debra Keeling (Mike) and Teresa Staggs (Steve); her beloved daughter-in-law, Cheryl Good; her grandchildren, Michael Prickett, April Schubert (Dave), Bobby Prickett Jr. (Laura), Jason Prickett (Stephanie), Amanda Emeterio (Matt), Heather Crouch (Travis), Courtney Young (Jake), and Tyler Staggs; her great-grandchildren Madalyn Prickett, Alexis Schubert, Aspyn Prickett, Katelyn Schubert, Kinslee Prickett, Grady Camden, Emerysn Shirley, Daniel Schubert, Britney Emeterio, Evie Prickett, Bree Keeling, Mason Keeling, Waylon Young, Mattison Emeterio, and Chloe Young; and her great-nieces, Cerise Kepich and Maya Prickett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bobby Lynn Prickett; her daughter, Melissa Ballard her brother, Tommy Prickett; her nephew, Phillip Prickett; and many extended family members and friends.

Services for Mary Lafate Ballard are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Willis Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
